Seasonal Wellness: New Year, New You with Kelly Lam (For Teens & Adults)

SIGN-UPS ARE CLOSED FOR THIS SERIES. Please join us for the next Seasonal Wellness in April!

With Special Guest Chef Jenny Ross from 118 degrees and Sponsored by Melissa's Produce

Begin the new year with a new you! In this workshop, we will break down the importance of how we eat and the effects it has on our daily life. This course will be led in a group style setting encouraging open conversation in a safe environment, creating our own healthy community.

Each student will take away a better understanding of how to connect with food by safely detoxing seasonally, boost energy through food intake and wellness practices.  Great recipes, pamphlets, and goodies will be provided to take home!

*Participants must attend the first session on January 9th but are not required to attend all remaining sessions.  We want to make sure that everyone starts their cleanse with the same provided information.

Overview of program:

January 9, 7:30pm-9:30pm - For our first session, we will begin with an open community circle, introducing ourselves and discussing what has brought us to this program.  From there we will begin to breakdown the 21 day Seasonal Wellness calendar, discuss food options, recommended products, and go through a step by step of how to rid your diet of processed foods.

January 12, 10am-11am – OPTIONAL! Join us for a field trip to the Farmer’s Market in the University Town Center.  We will meet at the Center for Living Peace and then take a quick walk over to the Market, where we will learn about seasonal foods.

January 16, 7:30pm-9:30pm- This session will begin with a yoga flow class designed around all levels.  Our class discussion will be based on the importance of eating seasonal and from the earth, how to eat clean and still make it convenient for on the go lifestyles.

January 23, 7:30pm-9:30pm- On this day, we will begin with a detox yoga flow to help promote the process of flushing toxins from the body.  Our evening discussion will be based around the importance of juicing, its benefits, how to juice, recipes and why we should give our stomachs a rest and how to incorporate solid food back into your diet safely.

January 30, 7:30pm-9:30pm- For our last session together, we will discuss how our bodies feel after a 21 day cleanse, how to continue to keep a clean diet and the importance of resetting your system through a cleanse with every new season.  This evening will end with a gentle yoga class to calm and relax our newly cleansed bodies.
