Artful Eating: Celebrating Summer Growth, Presented by Orange County Museum of Art
Everyday life has sped up to such an extent that most of us barely think about what we eat or who produced it. But what if we changed our approach; thought about dinner ahead of time, met the person who grew our vegetables, and truly appreciated the food we shared around the table with our loved ones. This class celebrates the summer season and practices the art of good health. The average Southern California temperature throughout the summer is 80 degrees, and the further inland you are, the warmer the weather. Our region at large is an ideal location for plants that thrive in a Mediterranean climate, such as cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, corn and squash. Visit the Irvine Farmer’s Market together, meet local vendors, and prepare delicious composed salads together. A memento of the experience: leave with your own potted seedlings to grow at home!
Please plan to arrive promptly on time so we can tour the Irvine Farmer's Market as a group.
